What?

The VIP is a Video-on-demand device which was sold by infamous german trash outlet Pollin. Luckily, some dude hacked it wide open (cool story, btw). A friend build a toolchain, so we could build mpd, nfs and stuff. He even found a nice, fast ogg decoder. And thats the crux with this device: the dsp can only be used with the original binary blobs. So, even audio playback is only possible with optimized decoders.
You can playback Video, if you stream it as mpeg2. Since the device can only play sd anyway, transcoding is viable.
