HP Compaq TC1100

I like these things, older x86 based tablets. Modern x86 tablet are usually based on Intel's Atom SoC platform, which has many issues when used with Linux. Sure, older Atom (pre SoC) based ones should work well, but i am not aware of any tablets using older Atom processors. And then again, they should be even slower than something like this Centrino based thing. And modern, Core based tablets are expensive, and more like "normal" tablet than "normal" PC's. Maybe more useful, but less cool (for a certain definition of cool).
This one is pretty cool. The Centrino platform has excellent Linux Support and usable performance. Its quite expandable having two RAM slots and a mPCI Slot. And it has VGA, Ethernet and USB, dockable Keyboard and even a real docking port.
Sure, parts are rare. I lack even a working battery. But patience should help here.
